So irritated
Scott recently went through his evaluation at work, and the temp agency that got him into the position called him to tell him the results. Evidently he performs at above average standards, they are very pleased with his hard work, etc etc. When I asked him what that means he said, "Nothing." I said, "Do you get a raise?" and he said no, that it's not in the budget.
He's been on this job for a year now and has not had a single raise. I'm so irritated. I'm off now to look for job opportunities for him online. This is ridiculous. You can't expect to hold on to good employees if you're not willing to pay for them. Bastards.

Maybe he isn't a good employee. Is it possible that he is telling you what you want to hear to save his pride?

Asshole, did you not read the part about his supervisors raving about him? And yes, I know for a fact they did. It's not just something he told me.
Hey, why don't you just fuck off Jamie, whoever the fuck you are. Stay away from my blog you nosey shithead.

You know me from your mommy board. Sorry to raise such ire. This must be a sore spot. I will not make comments about trust issues again.
Exactly how do you know that they were raving about him? Did they talk to you about it?
I had this very experience with a long time boyfriend. He told me such the same. Never got raises because they weren't in the budget, but they loved him, etc. Yet, it wasn't true. That is why I brought it up. I apologize for projecting my experience to yours. I'm sure your husband has never given you reason to not trust him.

Wow, what an awful thing to say. I've had the same experience with Josh. Every job he has seems to 'love' him but they don't show him the appreciation for it. And I know what a hard worker he is from experience, as we worked our first job together years ago. He finally has a job that seems to appreciate him and even now he didn't get the 'full raise' he should've been entitled to, only partial. Corporate America sucks! That is all :)
